Under One Roof
Under One Roof explores Singapore’s hawker centres as spaces of collective memory, identity, and belonging. More than sites of consumption, hawker centres function as social architectures where different generations, cultures, and daily routines intersect on equal ground. In a society driven by speed, efficiency, and progress, they remain among the few environments where time slows, conversations linger, and everyday rituals persist. These paintings are contemplative responses to spaces that quietly hold shared memories beneath their functional surfaces.
